How to watch SNL clips in Canada

Don’t you love how the mind raping Television corporations feel the need to block internet video clips from the internet? When you go to NBC’s website, you get this message when trying to view clips.

“Videos are currently blocked to users outside the U.S. due to copyright restrictions.”

Anything that doesn’t produce profit is nullified. Fuckin lame, ever hear of viral marketing? They shut the doors down to kill potentially fabulous marketing of their shows by people spreading the word on the internet. Doesn’t make sense… Anyway, enough ranting.

If you’re not from the U.S., you can view clips over at

Note the commercial they make you sit through at first, just turn your brain off for the first 30 seconds.

Best SNL skit in a while, seems like Andy Sandberg is the only one doing funny stuff on SNL for the past several years.

  1. I’m in Canada and it sucks, the cell phone plans suck, tv sucks, radio sucks, Internet sucks, the crtc sucks. I can’t wait to move to the states.

  2. Not nearly the amount of videos on the Global site as there are on NBC. Unfortunately, it’s not really because of profit. The same reason we can’t watch Hulu (where NBC hosts their videos) is the same reason why we can’t use Google Voice or watch Adult Swim videos: the CRTC won’t allow it. Until they catch up with the internet and get more efficient with regulating Canadian content, we best get used to it.

  3. Sorry but your suggestion about watching SNL from Canada doesn’t work. Jack

  4. i think NBC blocks em so they can sell sole Cdn distribution rights to someone else – in this case Global, who presents em however they see fit (like with lots of fcking ads).

i’m still bothered they block shit from youtube.

here is a much shorter link:

  5. Curses! I just want to watch some hilarious videos.

  6. The only problem is that the Global site takes FOREVER to add the cilps (days). So when you wake up on Sunday morning you can’t watch them. I have a better solution.
You can download this program for free that blocks your IP address from US sites that have restrictions (only appears to work for US sites, not UK or other restricted)

works great and then you can watch them straight off nbc or hulu.
