Sharbot Lake provincial park is located in, Sharbot Lake, Ontario and features a breathtaking park nestled with hiking trails, canoe rentals on a beautiful sparkling lake. It is freshly upkept and home to some lovely beaches topped with fresh flowing warm water for a lovely wade in the sun.
While this description of Sharbot Lake may sound tantalizing, I must warn you there is one glaring problem with this park which screeches a good experience to a grinding halt. If you enjoy things like listening to music, singing songs around a campfire, laughing, letting your children play, talking without whispering, being awake past 8pm and not being annoyed every 30 minutes by rookie cop wannabee park rangers who threaten to fine you for laughing then this park is absolutely not for you.
I understand how excessive noise can not be tolerated around neighboring camp sites and mutual respect to my fellow campers is always a priority when I hit the woods. I like to play a little acoustic around a fire, have a few beer, play some frisbee, fish and take it easy. I’ve been camping to a few sites in Ontario where the wardens were a little pushy on their rule enforcement but I’m always very kind and respectful when they come around. However, this Park, Sharbot lake takes the cake when it comes to overbearing young cop wannabees flexing their prepubescent muscle. Nothing burns my ass more then park wardens who flex their muscle every chance they get.
These guys where going campsite to campsite, families with children, teens, young adults whoever and giving them all warnings and threatening to fine. The neighbors would come over and ask what their problem was, we talked and realized we could barely hear the neighbors and vise versa. I understand warnings if people were actually complaining but there was nothing to complain about and we all agreed there was nothing to complain about…
I don’t wanna harp on these aspiring police men who have yet to learn how to handle responsibility and power but shit, it hampered on our vacation and enough so to make me write about it. By the 16th visit, 10th warning and 3rd threat to fine without any means of doing so other then, “they can do so just because”, I was moments away from dropping a nuclear f-bomb war that would have surely ended in me being pepper sprayed, zip tied and carried off by the O.P.P. I kept my cool, starred at the ground in complete silence and vowed to never visit the likes of Sharbot Lake Camping ever again.
I want to inform people who like to have fun and plan to do more then reading in a solace state of coma like meditation, If your kids laugh, you play guitar or like to chat with family and friends, stay the f^%k away from this place.
Camping grounds that make sense: Fitzroy, Murphy’s Point, Sandbanks, Lac Philippe

Funny, this is the exact opposite of why I gave up on Prov Parks system. Dogs barking, beer bottles on the beach, no enforcement. (This was Grundy back in the 90′s.)
