that I would love to see… Being a huge hockey fan, and huge gaming fan needless to say, this is my favorite game. Although spectacular, it has flaws, big flaws that need to be fixed.

If EA wanted to blow any other hockey gaming franchise out of the water this is what they would do.

Fix collision bugs

Nothing worse then watching a goal that is not really a goal, a stick/puck/body going through someone’s body/net. There are currently massive collision problems that should be rectified, watching stuff go through other stuff just ruins the playability, credibility and trust in the game. I’ve seen instances where the stick and puck with go through the net, the puck will stay, and remain in the net and there is no goal and you can do anything to get the puck out of the net… You’re forced to reboot your machine… Lame. I’ve seen instances where the puck is in the net, but the goal horn doesn’t go off and players have to dive “through” the net to glitch the puck out, I can go on here but you get my point and you can youtube that shit if you want more.

Improve AI

We all know about NHL08′s one time glitch where the puck carrier will go in the corner, “laser pass” to the player in the slot for an easy goal. In real life the Defense covering this play would not allow that after numerous tries… The defense need to be more adaptive to cover their man as well as knowing when a human player moves out of position, someone has to reposition to compensate like in real hockey.

Drastically Reduce Online douchebagerry

• Online team play in NHL08 is by far the greatest online gaming experience I’ve ever had. At the same time, it’s also been the worst due to the INCREDIBLE amount of annoying sniveling shit bags that make their way online to strictly ruin other people’s team play. I mean the most racist, bigot, prejudice, sexist, disgusting morbid things I’ve ever heard have been waiting for an NHL08 team-play to launch. By no means is this EA’s fault, mostly absolute terrible parenting and human nature of Internet anonymity but there are things EA could do to let us who want to have fun, eliminate the shit bags from the games. Here are a few ideas.
• Have indicators beside people’s names when people are talking, or screaming at the top of their lungs, or singing the catchy NHL soundtrack, or reciting passages from the satanic bible…
• Now with these indicators would come the ability to kick the individual out of the room, to the person who owns the room or initiate a vote to kick…. anything please!
• If 75% of the room readies up, the game launches.
• You have 30 seconds to choose your position! If nothing chosen, you’re going any.
• When creating a team-play game, have the option to force all players to choose a locked position. Nothing worse then being locked and playing with a douche bag that never passes the puck to you, he’s playing single player.

Rated team-play games please!!!!!

Stars and DNF are a great influence online and the lack of it in team-play means people (Goalies) can leave whenever they want without punishment, which leaves games lopsided many a time. If someone’s DNF is affected by online teamplay, this increases the chance of spotting douches before the game launching, thus letting us kick them out the room, thus increasing their willingness to not be a douche… IF there were encouraging aspects to play good teamplay, then hoozah, I’ll let EA brainstorm those.

Ability to kick or vote kick someone out from in the game. Sometimes goalies get frustrated, so they pull themselves in the first period, or decide to skate out to the other end of the ice because it’s “funny”… Sometimes players loosing get frustrated and plop their joystick on the table and go for an afternoon stroll, sometimes they’ll just strart slashing like a madman… That shit needs to be dealt with somehow. Kicking would solve it, but if the other team has a human goalie, then the game just got lobsided… Maybe the ai detects douchebagerry and a pop up comes up, ” Keep this up and we’ll bomb your house ( we have your address from xbox live “… Ok maybe drastic but you catch my drift.

• When someone gets a penalty, they sit in the fuckin box. Not the centermen, or the leftwing or the captain or some random player… This would fix the random slasher.
• When someone gets a penalty shot, they take the penalty shot.
• When it’s time for a shootout, all forwards get a turn.

Whisle blows!

• After the whistle blows , penalize the douchebags who slash/check/shoot in the net…
• Wether it’s a brawl, penalty, roughing, reduced stamina… whatever. If that shit happened in real hockey, hell would break loose.

Everything else is beautiful with this game, except the lack of customizations to my control layout… If I would have dream controls, it would look something like this. It surely has it’s flaws as I don’t have unlimited time to RND n Debug

In conclusion, NHL08 is fantastic, if they implement these suggestions, NHL09 would be the pinnacle of awesome. I can’t wait to try it, booyhea!, here’s hoping.”
