It’s a question I still can’t answer but I can tell you my experience thus far. I will start with the positive as I do want to give this company props for coming up with some original ideas, innovation that will bring them great success.

The FragFX is a mouse for the playstation 3, built basically with a Wii type nunchuck for movement and a mouse for aiming in 1st person shooters. While this sounds fantastic for avid PC gamers that are used to the precision of mouse fps’s, we must keep in mind that this is a first generation of this type for console gamage.
With that said, as we all know, V1 stuff usually sucks the bone, usually due to lack of funding, resources, testing, whatever… I can’t say for sure. So unfortunately, as expected, the FragFX has Problems. I’m on my second one and it’s strike two.
The first one I purchased from Best buy had some issues. First issue was the responsiveness and lack thereof in the Y axis of the mouse movement. The X axis was a little jerky, not smooth. I tried adjust every possible combination of sensitivity on the hardware wheel as well as in game with no luck. The Y axis was just unusable due to the hardware after much testing.
Second issue was some of the buttons where inconsistent with pressure sensitivity. The L1 button which is used for the iron sights in fps’s was glitchy, I would press at a certain pressure and all of the sudden the sights would go away which I then had to grip quite hard to get the sights back. So the hardware’s a little flaky it seems.
I upgraded the firmware which undoubtedly made things worse so I decided to take another two hour trek to bring it back to Bestbuy for exchange in hopes for a functional one.
Now on my second FragFX , I plug it in, press the ps mouse button for the blue light to come on, all systems go. I launch BF Bad company and begin to test, to my dismay my crosshair is pointed straight to the sky and I’m spinning in circles. I try all sorts of things before finally looking under mouse and see that the laser is blinking. Darn. Now before I go flash the firmware I am trying to get in contact with their support staff in hopes that they may guide me to the great gaming experience I seek with this hardware.
In conclusion, so far strike two for the FragFX but I wait in hopes that their staff can rectify this dilemma. They have a 1800 number and are based in Canada which gives me hope. I will keep this post updated with what transpires for all you PS3 fans waiting to try this thing out and wondering if it’s worth it.
Cheers.
