Just installed Photoshop CS3 and getting this error?

“could not initialize photoshop because the file is locked. Use the properties command in the windows explorer to unlock the file”

Rename your preferences file. For me, on vista, it was located in :

M:\Users\”your user name”\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS3\Adobe Photoshop CS3 Settings\Adobe Photoshop CS3 Prefs.psp

Cheers

  4. Hold Ctrl + Alt + Shift (PC) or Command + Option + Shift (Mac OSX) and start Photoshop. You will be prompted with an alert box requesting whether or not to delete the preferences file.

    C:\Documents and Settings\”username”\Application Data\Adobe folder and all it’s contents.
DO NOT FEAR these files will be replaced next time you open Photoshop.

      • Try in this way: document and settings -> {your user name} -> local (set up?) and change the permissions for the file TEMP, give complete permissions to your username.
Sorry but I don’t remember the name of last folder in english (mine is in italian).
Anyway is the folder where you have your temporary internet files.
I hope this can help you.
